The Body Shop All-In-One Face Base Review

On my mission to become as cruelty-free as possible, I discovered The Body Shop All-In-One Face Base. Here are my thoughts on this handy little product.

The All-In-One Face Base caught my eye as I was doing my usual rummage in my local Body Shop.

The last Body Shop makeup product I purchased was a bright teal eyeshadow that I picked up when I was around 12 years old. Who else remembers those days?

Now, this foundation is far from garish but still just as nifty as that shadow.

I was looking for an affordable alternative to my beloved Bare Minerals powder; something that would tide me over until I had the pennies to spend. As it's quite difficult to find cruelty-free products in a lot of Hull's beauty shops, I thought I'd see what The Body Shop had to offer.

What I love most about this foundation is that it's compact. You can pop it in your handbag and touch your makeup up on a night out or at work.

In saying that, I found that I dohave to touch it up on longer days. Whereas this isn't really an issue for me, I wouldn't recommend it if you were planning a really special occasion.

And, unlike Bare Minerals, this product doesn't fully blend into my skin. However, it's good to keep in mind that the Body Shop powder is Β£10+ cheaper.

But, all in all, this All-In-One product is useful, practical and hardworking. It sees me through the day and feels lovely on my skin. You can apply it with both a brush or the sponge that comes with it if you're on the go.

According to the Body Shop website, you can also build a higher coverage with a wet sponge - I may have to try this.

The colour also suits my skin very well. This product comes in 12 different shades, although, unfortunately, it doesn't look like it comes in many of the deeper ones. I went for the palest '02' tone and I'm happy to report that it's not yellow-y or ash-y at all. Just right to suit my winter complexion.

Another thing I have noticed is the products longevity. I bought this back in November and it's still going strong.

Despite the likelihood of me returning to Bare Minerals, I will definitely consider this powerful little tool when it comes to saving money on my everyday routine.
