7 Ways to Treat Yourself For Free

We all deserve a treat now and again, but I feel like we're increasingly falling into the habit of relying on money to make us happy. Personally, I don't have as much spare cash as I used to, so I've had to really re-consider the ways in which I treat myself after a long week. You can practice self-care without breaking the bank. Here are just a few things you can try:

Invite your friends over.

Instead of heading to the pub or going out for a meal, why not invite your friends over for some quality time? Catch up over a cup of tea and just enjoy each others company.

Take a bath.

There's no better treat than spending a bit of time to look after yourself. And, you don't really need to spend a tonne of money at Lush to enjoy a nice soak (although that's fun too). I'm pretty sure everyone has one product in their bathroom cupboard that you've been saving for a special occasion - well that time is now!

Do your nails.

On the same note, grab your favourite nail varnish and treat your tootsies to a bit of TLC.

Exercise.

Sometimes, the last thing I want to do after a long day at work is get all sweaty, but, it honestly makes me so much better. Whatever you choose to do, whether it's heading to the gym, going for a walk or doing some yoga, I promise it'll feel like a treat.

Clean.

Again, this is another activity that will pay off later. A clean, tidy space always makes me feel relaxed. Spend some time putting things where they belong, decluttering your space and you might find that you feel a lot better.

Watch your favourite film.

With so much choice on what to watch nowadays, I often forget about the films I genuinely love. Plan an evening in, stick your fave flick on and chill out.

Take a nap.

If all else fails, I frequently find that taking a nap is one of the best ways I can treat myself. Take a nap, have a lie-in, treat yourself to some beauty sleep.
